Neon Text Generator

Add angular Asian-style brackets between each character for a neon sign, cyberpunk aesthetic.

Neon wraps every character of your text in CJK double-angle brackets (》 and 《), producing a glowing, sign-like frame such as 》N《》E《》O《》N《. The look borrows from cyberpunk shop signs and synthwave aesthetics, giving short words a boxed, electric vibe without changing the letters themselves. It is best for punchy one-word labels rather than full sentences.

Example:》N《》E《》O《》N《
》N《》E《》O《》N《

How Neon Text Works

This style does not convert your letters into a special alphabet. Your characters stay as ordinary ASCII (the "N" is still a normal U+0041 "N"). Instead, the transform inserts a pair of CJK angle brackets around each character: U+300B 》(RIGHT DOUBLE ANGLE BRACKET) before it and U+300A 《(LEFT DOUBLE ANGLE BRACKET) after it. Because the brackets are full-width East Asian punctuation, each letter ends up visually framed in its own little glowing cell. Spaces are handled specially so that word breaks stay readable rather than collapsing the bracket pattern.

Tips for Using Neon Text

  • Keep it to one short word or a few letters. The bracket on each character roughly triples the visual width, so full sentences become a wall of brackets and get hard to read.
  • Use it on ALL CAPS words for the strongest neon-sign effect. Lowercase still works but uppercase looks more like a glowing storefront sign.
  • Because the letters stay as plain text underneath, screen readers and search still see your real word, which makes this safer for accessibility than alphabets that swap in look-alike symbols.

Neon Text Compatibility

Renders reliably almost everywhere because it uses common CJK punctuation plus your normal Latin letters, so there are no missing-glyph boxes. The full-width brackets show up cleanly on Instagram, Discord, TikTok, Twitch and most browsers. On a few older or very narrow mobile fonts the angle brackets can look slightly thin rather than bold, and some platforms add extra spacing around full-width punctuation, so a word may appear wider than expected.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Neon actually change my letters into a special font?

No. Your letters stay as ordinary text. The effect comes entirely from the CJK double-angle brackets 》and 《 placed around each character, so the word itself is unchanged underneath the decoration.

Why does my pasted text look so wide?

The brackets are full-width East Asian punctuation, and one pair is added to every character. That roughly triples the width, which is why short words work best and long sentences become cramped.

Will it work in Discord and game usernames?

Yes. Discord, most game name fields, and forums render CJK angle brackets fine, so 》N《》E《》O《》N《 copies and pastes cleanly. Some name fields have character limits, and since each letter adds two bracket characters, very long names may get cut off.

Can I still search for or read the word I styled?

Mostly yes. Because the base letters remain normal ASCII, the underlying word is still your real text, which helps with screen readers and copy-back. Just note the brackets sit between letters, so a literal text search for the plain word may not match the decorated version.

Where to Use Neon Text

  • Gaming nicknames and clan tags where you want a hard, cyberpunk look like 》K《》I《》L《》L《
  • Discord usernames or server channel names that need a glowing neon-sign feel
  • Instagram and TikTok bio headers for a single hype word such as VIBES or NEON
  • Twitch panel titles, stream overlays, and 'LIVE' badges with a synthwave aesthetic
  • Short Spotify or YouTube playlist titles built around retro 80s / vaporwave themes
  • Forum signatures, gamertags, and aesthetic profile names where one bold word does the work
