Spaced Out Text Generator
Add spaces between each character for a spread out look.
Spaced Out takes your normal text and pushes the letters apart, inserting a gap between every single character so a word like "calm" becomes "c a l m". It's the digital equivalent of l e t t e r i n g s l o w l y, and it carries that same airy, unhurried, vaguely vaporwave mood โ which is exactly why aesthetic Instagram captions and minimalist bios reach for it constantly.

How Spaced Out Text Works
This style does not convert your letters into any special characters. The transform splits your text into individual characters and rejoins them with a normal ASCII space (U+0020) between each one, so "hi" becomes "h i". Every letter, number, and symbol you typed stays as plain, standard text. Because nothing is swapped for a fancy Unicode glyph, the result remains fully searchable and readable everywhere โ the only change is the literal spaces wedged between characters. Note this differs from the Fullwidth style, which replaces each glyph with a wide CJK look-alike; Spaced Out keeps your original characters untouched and simply spreads them out.
Tips for Using Spaced Out Text
- Keep it short โ one or two words. A full sentence spaced out gets hard to read fast and can look cluttered rather than airy.
- Because the spacing uses real spaces, some apps will wrap or break a long spaced word across lines awkwardly; preview before posting if width matters.
- Pair it with all-lowercase letters for the softest, most minimalist effect, or all-caps for a bold poster-style header.
Spaced Out Text Compatibility
Works literally everywhere, because it only uses ordinary letters and standard spaces โ no special fonts or Unicode blocks are involved, so there is nothing to fail to render. The only caveat is purely visual: platforms that collapse or trim whitespace (some chat input fields, certain HTML contexts, search bars) may shrink or strip the gaps, and very long spaced text can wrap onto multiple lines on narrow screens.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does spaced-out text use a special font?
No. Unlike most generators here, this one doesn't swap your letters for fancy Unicode glyphs. It keeps your exact characters and just inserts a normal space between each one, so the text stays 100% standard and readable.
Will the spaces stay when I paste it somewhere?
Usually yes, since they're regular spaces. But some inputs trim or collapse repeated whitespace (like trimming a username), so paste it into a normal text field or caption rather than a tightly-validated form.
Is spaced text searchable and screen-reader friendly?
Yes โ because the characters are unchanged plain text, search engines and find-on-page tools still recognize the underlying word, and screen readers read the real letters (they'll just pause between them, sometimes spelling it out).
What's the difference between Spaced Out and Fullwidth?
Spaced Out keeps your normal letters and adds gaps between them. Fullwidth actually replaces each letter with a wide CJK-style version of that glyph, which builds in the spacing but changes the characters themselves. Spaced is more compatible; fullwidth has a heavier, more distinct look.
Where to Use Spaced Out Text
- Aesthetic Instagram captions and bios where you want a calm, gallery-like feeling ('s o f t l a u n c h')
- Section headers or pinned messages in Discord and Slack to make a short label stand out without bold formatting
- Minimalist Tumblr or Pinterest post titles that lean into vaporwave / soft-grunge moods
- Spacing out a single emphasis word inside an otherwise normal sentence โ like ending a tweet with 'f i n a l l y'
- Lo-fi playlist names, mood-board labels, or Notion page headers where extra breathing room reads as 'curated'
- Vaporwave or retro-aesthetic graphics where the wide spacing mimics 80s magazine typography
